Malts

Natural mineral spring water

Water is the main ingredient of beer. We only use the highest quality of water originating from a natural spring in the Eiffel-Ardennes region. This natural spring water gives our beer the refreshing character.

Premium dutch malt

To produce the finest malt, the best barley is selected to brew the rich taste of Amsterdam Beer. The Maltser chose locally grown barley from The Netherlands, adding a clean, well-balanced malt sweetness that complements our beer.

The finest fresh hop

This beer features fresh hops sourced from neighboring Germany, carefully integrated through a unique brewing formula that enhances their natural qualities, delivering a crisp and aromatic experience with each sip.

The brewery

With its state-of-the-art brewing equipment and a team of passionate brewers, each pint crafted here tells a story of bold experimentation and timeless tradition. Every batch is a testament to their dedication, blending innovative techniques with classic brewing principles.

Brewing

The brewing systems combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Strict quality control ensure every batch is always in the best condition.

Malting

The brewery works with its very own malting plant situated right next to the brewery, ensuring total control over the quality and freshness of the malt used in every brew.

Amsterdam & Dutch beer

Beer has played a significant role in Dutch culture since the Middle Ages. It was predominantly brewed within monasteries. It was commonly consumed alongside meals, even by children, although the alcohol content was considerably lower during that era.

In 17th century, brewing beer evolved into a profession, leading to the establishment of commercial breweries throughout the country. Amsterdam, particularly, emerged as a bustling center for beer trade and commerce during this prosperous period.

The city’s iconic canal system facilitated the transportation and exchange of various beers with other countries.
The Brouwersgracht got its street name because many beer breweries were located there at the time.
Most breweries were situated on a canal, so that the necessary large quantities of grain, peat, hops and water could be easily supplied.
